You need to finish this TODAY. Checking will be today (Jan 20 2010).

Task: You will produce 4 JPEG files from an original picture file. Each of these files isolates one channel of color. The rest of the colors will be grayed (or black-and-white). Let’s take letter ‘b’ below as an example. Letter b says ‘Blue’, meaning you need to retain all shades of blue in the picture, the rest will be grayed. How to do that? Refer to the Help below.
1.	Black & White
2.	Blue
3.	Yellow
4.	Red

Now pick a picture inside the ‘D:\Student G5′ folder in your computer OR take a picture from your camera. Make it as your ‘original picture’.

Help: To make a particular color turned to gray or black and white:
1.	Open the original picture (File > Open)

Save it to your folder (D:\Student\your folder). Save it with this file name:

3.	Click Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
4.	Select the color you want to be grayed (or black and white) from the Edit dropdown list
5.	Change its Saturation level to -100
6.	Click OK.
7.	Save your work again (File > Save)

Note: Use your History palette to undo from your picture’s original color settings, just click any of the previous steps.

A plugin in WordPress is a script or mini-program that can be plugged (or added) as one of your WordPress functionalities.

To add Youtube videos in your blog you will use the Smart Youtube plugin by Vladimir Prelovac. This plugin is already installed in your WordPress. All you need to do is to activate it in your WordPress Admin Panel.

Scroll down a bit and find Smart Youtube

Click Activate.

(Optional) Scroll down and click the Settings tab. Click Smart Youtube. You’ll be given means to modify your Youtube posts. Make it sure that you understand the settings before changing it.

HOW TO EMBED YOUTUBE VIDEOS:

Post > Add New

Then do normal blog posting: Write the title, write meaningful tag, and put it in its proper category.

Write one paragraph why you like the video.

Open the video from Youtube and copy the URL of the video that you want. Video’s URL is on the right side.

Go back to your WordPress and paste the URL in the writing area.

Add “v” (without the double quotes) after the “http..” of the URL.

Example:

From: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Nz01wU4Tob

To: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Nz01wU4To

WHAT TO DO NEXT?

Now, add 5 educational and interesting videos from Youtube. Don’t forget to say something about that video. Explain to us why you like it most. One paragraph will do.

Remember to assign a category (or categories) for your posts. Do not put everything in the Uncategory.
